The photo below has been making the rounds among Hunger Games fans around twitter, tumblr and Facebook for the past few months.

It is one of our absolute favorite photos, (hmm..wonder why?) but we never knew it’s origin.  Well thanks to one of our fantastic followers on Twitter, WillBrown, we now have the source for the image!

Will did some research and tracked the photo back to Flicker user xenia elizabeth.  The photo was taken in Madison, Wisconsin in March 2011, where citizens gathered at the State Capitol to protest the Governor signing a bill that “eliminated almost all collective bargaining for most public workers”  On her photostream you can see more images of her son, Simon, with the sign, and some of xenia’s comments about the it and the series.

We love The Hunger Games at this house. I guess you can tell by our sign!

…We went to the protest over our spring break. My son, Simon (in the photo) and I LOVED The Hunger Games and thought it made perfect sense to make a poster of it for the protests.

We agree it made perfect sense! :)

Thank you so much to Will and to xenia elizabeth!
