SM Cinema Announces ‘The Hunger Games’ Release Date for the Philippines, March 21, 2012
SM Cinema, the largest film exhibitor in the Philippines, announced today via their Twitter and Facebook, that The Hunger Games film will be released in the Philippines on March 21, 2012, that’s 2 days before the US release date of the film (March 23, 2012).
Our friends at Hunger Games Philippines have let us know that it is typical for films to debut on a Wednesday in their country, though occasionally they do have a Friday Release (Breaking Dawn). So, this release date falls right in line with that schedule.
The Hunger Games fans in the Philippines are amazing, so we are so excited for them! The odds were definitely in their favor this time!
So, now the question is, who’s up for a road trip?

LOL now this means that us in the US are going to have to avoid spoilers starting two days before the movie :O But I guess that only fair since a lot of other countries have to try really hard to avoid spoilers when movies come out in the US first.

I hate to tell you but the release date in Australia is March 22 as Thrursday is the new movie day here. So with the time difference we get a two-day jump on the US as well.

The rumor is they may split Mockingjay. At the moment they have the option to do 4 movies if they would like to, not guarantees at this point.

The HG team said that they’re going to make 4 movies so it’s most probably Mockingjay to receive the split just like HP and Twilight’s respective final books.
