The Wrap is reporting that the music video for the first single from The Hunger Games companion album will debut on February 13:
Swift’s new video, featuring the Civil Wars, will debut exclusively on MTV during an MTV News special at 7:54 p.m. ET, and it will be simulcast on MTV’s channels in Canada, Europe, Latin America Australia, Asia and Africa. It will air online exclusively at TaylorSwift.MTV.com in more than 150 territories.
Minutes later, the video will debut on Country Music Television and across MTV’s digital properties, from MTV.com to VH1.com to MTV’s international sites.
Toffler said it was an organic offshoot of ongoing relationships.
“For the VMAs we leaked never-before seen footage of ‘The Hunger Games’,” Toffler said. “We’re in business with Taylor Swift every day on CMT and MTV. When we found out they were doing something together, we said let’s do something unique and big and global.”
Update: if you can’t watch on TV, be sure to tune into the MTV First Ustream channel here.
MTV has also provided additional information on what fans can expect from the world premiere:
Before the premiere, fans will be treated to exclusive content from the video and learn more about the song, which is the lead single from the “Hunger Games” soundtrack. “Safe & Sound” was written by Swift, the Civil Wars and T-Bone Burnett, the film’s composer.
Taylor Swift will also be answering fan questions after the world premiere! You can submit your question by following the instructions below:
And if there’s anything you’re dying to know, Taylor will be sticking around afterward to answer questions about her contribution to the movie’s soundtrack, including a few asked by fans themselves! You know the drill: Hop on Twitter and holler at us, using the handle @MTVNews and the #AskTaylor or #MTVFirst hashtags.
We’ve known for a few weeks now that Taylor Swift had filmed a video for Safe and Sound, and we’re excited to see how they use the footage she shot (hopefully) in conjunction with some new scenes from the film itself. Could we be jsut a week away from seeing some Rue (or Prim or Peeta) in action?
Are you excited to see the video? What do you hope will be included in it?

Will it be live for pacific time because I live in California. It stinks when things come on live sometimes because it is usually eastern time. When the first trailer was playing live at around 8:30 in times square, I got up at 5:30 just so I could see it since there is a 3-hour time difference
