Video: New(er) Hunger Games Trailer Spot Shown During the Grammys

Last weekend Lionsgate introduced a second theatrical trailer for The Hunger Games that aired during the Super Bowl, and now a similar trailer was shown tonight during the Grammy’s. Slightly shorter than the original version,(32 seconds vs 1:11) it also includes new angles and a few new shots from the film.
Here are stills of the new clips/angles we see in this version of the trailer. We get to hear Effie say “Happy Hunger Games”, a new shot of Caesar on the screen for the audience, see new angles of Caesar and Katniss during the interview, and probably the most interesting see a shot of Cinna and Effie watching Katniss’ interview on the couch in what looks like District 12′s floor. So, does this mean there will be “no twirl for me” signal?
Note there are other differences as well, but these are the “newer” pieces. What did you think of the new spot? Let us know in the comments.

At first, I just assumed it was the same trailer, so I didn’t pay much attention to it. Then I realized it was a little different, and I was so excited!

So the image that had everyone sitting on the couch wasn’t the scores, but from the interviews? Because I swear I can see the top of Effie’s hair and Cinna’s head in the short scene, with Katniss on the TV during her interview.

It appears as though Cinna and Effie are watching the interviews from their room and not in the audience. This seems to be a different shot than the still that was released.

I’m confused. How are Katniss and Caesar talking about that again, but differently? I mean he wouldn’t ask her twice…

The camera angle shown in this trailer are just different than one shown previously. Same sequence they are just giving us another look at it.

I knew I wasn’t just imagining things! I watched it like 3 times and I just thought I was being too hopeful. Good to know I’m not crazy

her dress will sparkle at least. I read that in the movie companion book. We just haven’t seen the dress twirling when she turns. Only top shots

I know there’s an image where they’re building the Cornucopia—and it is huge! I don’t have the book, but I have seen the picture.

In the book, Gary Ross says that it was a huge production to build it. There is a picture of them laying down the huge woodwork for it. But no final pics of it. Hope that gave you something

I was watching the Grammy’s with my mom and I shushed her when the trailer came on and had to hear about it for the next two hours but still worth it.
P.S. Who else was disappointed that Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars didn’t perform Safe and Sound, I mean they were there together.

There is a sliver of a scene where it is night and Katniss is aiming her bow at something in the distance, is that the scene where she destroys the careers food supplies?

Hmmm I’m wondering if Haymitch’s advice isn’t gonna be “Stay alive” but “Make sure they remember you” because we’ve seen him say it twice, once drunk, once sober

Haymitch’s advice (quote taken from the Hunger Games Tribute Guide): “They’ll put all sorts of stuff right in front. Right in the mouth of the cornucopia. There will even be a bow. But don’t go for it. . . They’re trying to pull you in and it’s not your game. Turn. Run. Get to high ground and then find some water.”

I personally think that the images/footages on the screens have all been added in later. If you compare the first theatrical trailer to the one we got recently: in the first one, it shows the crowd entering the square and it shows the screen. Displayed on the screen are images of District 12 citizens walking and waiting. In the second trailer, with the exact same footage, you see a clip of President Snow on the screen. (and even the President Snow footage was from the previous trailer, where he gives his speech).
Another example: in the second trailer, where it shows the big screen in front of the Capitol audience (this is during the tribute interviews), you see Caesar holding up Katniss’s hand. But in this TV Spot, you see a new shot of Caesar. I’m not extremely sure, but I think that, once again, it is the same footage.
So, I say don’t trust anything on the screens. I’ve been thinking about what Cinna and Effie could have been watching. Could it have been the Games somehow? Footage of the arena that Lionsgate didn’t want us to see? I’m just spitballing here.

I’m trying to remember– I think it was right at 10:00 PM EST? So, the Grammy’s were two hours in.
I don’t think you should worry too much– hopefully we’ll see this pop up on channels a lot more frequently now?

The “twirl for me” signal might still be in the movie because didn’t they watch a recap of the interviews? Like, after they actually did them.
Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch, and Portia could be in the room with Effie and Cinna when they are watching the interview because I remember in one of the stills, Cinna and Effie were sitting next to each other (wearing the same clothes that they are wearing in the trailer) and then it was Haymitch, Katniss, Peeta, and then Portia on the other side of Effie.
Lol idk if this made any sense.

I’m so upset they didn’t put any new images of peeta talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had this CRAZY dream where peeta dies!! so sad!!! haha… i’m eating a pita chip!
