5/24/2012Catching Fire MovieAldrin
After the success of the first Hunger Games movie, many fans immediately set their sights for November 2013, the release date Lionsgate has announced for the sequel. Lots of people began to express their excitement for the Catching Fire film, but according to ComingSoon.net, the sequel will be undergoing a bit of a name change.
Lionsgate has announced a minor title change for the second part of their blockbuster franchise. Formerly titled Catching Fire, the Francis Lawrence-directed sequel to this year’s The Hunger Games will now be called The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Surely this move was made to ensure people understood that Catching Fire is the next installment in The Hunger Games series, and although unconfirmed, it’s predicted that the final movie will be titled The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

Hm.. I guess it’s good for people who haven’t read the books but still want to see all the movies

Haha for a sec I thought it was going to be something completely different. Like Katniss and Peeta part 2.
Just kidding.

Part of me wishes we could have kept it as just Catching Fire, but this change makes sense and isn’t really surprising.
No real news here, if we’re honest.

It’s not a dramatic change atleast, cause when i saw the title i thought OMG there changing the name but it’s not really any different, but still prefer just Catching Fire xxx

Its not that big of a change, but really, if there’s a huge picture of Jennifer or Josh on a poster, does Lionsgate really think we’re that stupid? I mean, it is good for people who haven’t read the books, but The Hunger Games: Catching Fire just sounds too awkward. Sorry.

It’s not surprising. I had a feeling that they were going to do that. Would have liked it to stay plain old ‘Catching Fire’ but I understand why they’re doing it.

I figured this would happen. It’s good for the non-book readers so the know it’s the sequel, though I don’t know how anyone wouldn’t be able to tell it’s a sequel with Katniss and Peeta showing up on screen.. Like, ‘hey isn’t that Katniss? but it doesn’t say Hunger Games 2? I don’t get it *confused*’
I’m just glad they didn’t call it the “Hunger Games Saga: Catching Fire”

I’m glad their changing it to Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It just makes more since than just Catching Fire. Plus, every other major book turn movie franchise does that like: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Blah, hate twilight!) or The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. And it’ll make people who haven’t read the book immedietly realize “Oh! They’re making a second Hunger Games!” (but of course, who hasn’t read Hunger Games??? Lol!)

I nearly had a heart attack when I first read the headline, but when I scrolled down to see what the movie’s new title was, I was relieved. Thank goodness its nothing major…

Same! I saw the headline and almost fell out of my chair! Except after I read the article I understood that they probably did that. People who haven’t read the books might not know that Catching Fire is the sequel. It still makes me disappointed that they might change the name. And to be honest people can usually tell the movie by the poster
