#FinnickWatch2012 Update: RUMOR, Garrett Hedlund Has Auditioned for Finnick

New week, new Finnick rumors! Lainey Gossip is reporting that Garrett Hedlund has auditioned for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire.
…I’m told that Hedlund auditioned for the part of Finnick in Catching Fire for director Francis Lawrence about 10 days ago. It went very well. No final decisions yet but interest in Armie Hammer seems to have waned since Hammer wasn’t as enthusiastic about it as Lawrence was about him. Am told they’re still seeing people. But their priority right now isn’t so much casting as it is about getting the script in better shape.
Remember nothing is EVER OFFICIAL until Lionsgate confirms, but what are your thoughts on this new FinnickWatch rumor? Are you excited to learn that Garrett may have auditioned? What about the thoughts that the script is outweighing casting at the moment? Let us know in the comments.

I agree with Beth. I’m totally concerned that the script is still not 100%. Filming starts in late summer/fall and they still haven’t finished the script? How are they supposed to get a realistic idea during casting calls if the part of the script they’re reading from might not be completely 100%?
Back to the actual casting rumor, I would LOVE if this is true! I’ve been so desperately hoping Garrett would audition for the role at least! Keeping my fingers crossed about this one!

Filming begins in September according to Lionsgate.
Most likely they are working on the rewrites for the script, and it’s actually not uncommon for the script to be tweaked right up until filming begins (and sometimes after)
As to the script and auditions, most of the major cast for The Hunger Games, including Jennifer, Josh and Liam auditioned using portions of the book and not the script, so they probably are doing the same for Catching Fire as well.

YAssss! Make this happen now! It has to be him! I’ve been pushing for him to get this role. A thousand times yasss! And glad I never supported Armie since he’s following Taylor’s lead and completely dismissing this role. All the more reason for Hedlund to get it. And they def need to get that script together. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, Catching Fire has so much material and all needed for the story.
