Hunger Games Soundtrack artist, Glen Hansard (Take the Heartland) releases his first solo album today entitled, Rhythm and Repose. One of the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition of his album is Hansard’s version of Come Away to the Water, which he wrote and then was performed by Maroon 5 on Songs from District 12 and Beyond.
Exclaim has released a video of Glen performing the song during their exclusive session with him and it is hauntingly beautiful.
To compare here is Maroon 5′s version of the same song as heard on The Hunger Games Soundtrack. We love how the creators of this video added in dialogue and images from the film.

I actually like Glen’s version better than Maroon 5′s.
I wish he was on the soundtrack too

Ironically, Come Away to the Water is my favorite song on the soundtrack, and Take the Heartland is my least favorite.
