‘The Hunger Games’ Becomes the Top-Selling DVD of 2012

The Hunger Games, which was released on DVD on August 18, 2012, has taken just a little more than a month to become the top-selling DVD of 2012. According to ComicBook.Movie and Numbers.com, The Hunger Games has now sold 5,377,765 units, passing The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 which held the previous high with 5,223,078. The first part of the Twilight finale was released on DVD back in February.

The challenge to The Hunger Games top spot will begin next week when The Avengers is released on DVD/Blu-ray.

Yeah, Avengers’ll probably blow it out of the water. I haven’t bought THG yet, but I plan on buying The Avengers as soon as it comes out.

Yeah, Avengers will or might get more. THG has the benefit of loyal fans — as for Avengers the market can be niche and unfortunately for them the video has been pirated all over the place. I have THG and I’ll get Avengers too.
