10/20/2012Catching FireTheresa
Filming on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire just never seems to slow down! Today, our friends at Hunger Games Trilogy discovered new photos on Tumblr of what looks like a potential District 11 scene being shot in a field somewhere near Atlanta.
Photos are hidden below the jump for those that wish to avoid spoilers.
Though we don’t have confirmation that this is indeed District 11, it certainly seems to look that way. The cotton (field) and Peacekeepers patrolling it seem reminiscent of Katniss and Peeta’s arrivial in the district at the start of the Victory Tour.
What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

Could be 9, which makes grains. It must be 11, because that doesn’t look like a grain. Also, 9 really isn’t important to the series…

These pwople must be of District Eleven. In the book, Catching Fire, the people who lived there were described to be working diligently under the demanding prospect of Panem’s unanimously celebrated Harvest Festival. Also, the psople there were described as being of southern heritage and ethnicity (in other words, African American, or, minorly south Asian or Native American) and to be wearing hats, despite the heat, to keep the sun off their backs. Also, because of its remarkable size, the trains transporting food, cotton, and other agricultural goods were noted to be required to travel throughout the entire district to obtain the products. Also, the people working here are of vaying ages. Katniss notes that, while no children mine in District Twelve, Rue gave her the impression that the Capitol enforced child labor during harvest time. Lso, it should be noted that, because Thresh, Peeta, Rue, and, of course, Katniss all had connections, and because of Katniss’s relationship with Rue, as a protector, and an ally, this district would be experiencing extreme emotions–albeit, mixed ones–at the sight of the girl who covered their precious little tribute in flowers, and who made their voices heard. Look at these peoples reactions, not just the slave people, but the Peacekeepers too. They all bear that same, shocked, abashed look upon their faces, even if the Peacekeepers look as if they hate the victors, and the Eleveners, if you will, would say, thank you. Thank you for your recognition. Thank you for the honor you granted us. Thank you for your love. Oh, there is no doubt that this is District Eleven.
